Some amount of responsibly-sourced virgin fiber is needed for select grades of paperboard. Overall sales (certified and not) by these mills and fiber certified plants is equal to 15% of Sonoco’s revenue.Īll but three of our 19 global paperboard mills use 100% recycled fiber in their production. Additionally, we have plants in our paper container packaging, tubes & cores, and packaging carton operations certified to these programs and producing certified packaging. These are: the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®), Sustainable Forestry Initiative® (SFI®) and the Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification® (PEFC®) Chain of Custody and Due Diligence System Standards. The results in this paper are useful for both building energy conversation and creating a comfortable living environment in future.Sonoco’s U.S., Canadian, U.K., Brazilian and one of our Mexican mills are certified to one or more fiber certification programs. By the application of ECOTECT, designers could give full consideration to various ecological energy-saving methods in the early design stage. To realize the optimization of residential estate planning, some factors have been analyzed, such as building orientation, daylight on building, and natural ventilation condition. Taking a residential estate in Ma’anshan City, Anhui Province as an example, authors have analyzed meteorological data and energy conservation strategies that are closely related to local environment. In this paper, based on ECOTECT software, authors have done some beneficial explorations in the scheme design phase from the perspective of residential estate planning. It is urgent for China to explore the road of building energy conversation.
